During the Victorian era, Bures was an Industrial village completely self sufficient.
We had our own Tannery, Maltings, Brickworks, Abattoir, Gas Works, Electricity Generator and many other small industries. The River and the Railway were the predominant forms of transport during the early 1900`s

This web site will bring together a collection of photographs which have been captured on
camera, throughout the past 100 years.
